Keeps nudging you to upgrade, which you can skip. Then at the worst time possible (in store when you need a card) it tells you "no more skips" and refuses to work unless you sign up. Bad experience. Deleted the app.

I managed to remove seven cards from my wallet! Thats a lot!

This APP is simple to use and saves me the effort of fumbling around with my wallet to get my access card to the Toronto Athletic Club. Im glad someone told me about it.

Tried this for my PetroCanada rewards card and my Sobeys rewards card, nether store could scan the barcode....

I like the idea and it was good but since the update, my cards wont even show up and the password lock wont work. A fix would be great cause it would save carrying those cards around.

Bar codes still dont scan and the new update got rid of all my rewards/loyalty cards that was on it. In favor of "creating an account" with cardstar. I liked the old version better as my cards are not stored in "the cloud" or some account sever where it may or may not be compromised by some hacker.

I have been using this app for many years (since my iPhone 3G). Today I updated and all my cards are gone!! Most of those cards I do not have any more as I use to love the app. This was not in the update instructions. This is the best way to ruin an app and ruin what I the developers.

This is a totally dumb design decision.

Lost all my cars with this lame update!!

I liked this app even though it didn’t recognize all my cards. I have been using it for about two years now and I believe I have rated it a 4 for convenience and ease of use in the past. Now, after the latest automatic update all of my cards are gone. If I have to create a new account and cloud share, it might as well be passbook…. Good Bye CardStar.

The update wiped all my existing cards with no warning. Terrible experience. If I cant get the cards back automatically somehow Ill be an ex-user.

With new update I lost all my cards. The bar code scan doesnt work. Looking for a new card app now.

Unlike other reviews, my cards were still there but, and this is a big but, they appeared only after I created an account. This wasnt needed before. All your saved cards are still there, just not available until you create an account.

After using this app for years the requirement to setup an account to see and use your cards is unacceptable. I will be looking for a new app.

Updated to v5.01 lost cards and cannot access account. Emailed several times no resoponse, cant even get a password reset email. This used to be a great app but now I wonder how this pile of dog poo made it past certification.

Editing my previous low scoring review when the upgrade appeared to lose all my existing cards. Its back to the app Ive long enjoyed using, now with a fresh interface. To those complaining it wont scan... The store needs to use CCD hand scanners. Laser barcode scanners dont work on a phone screen. Thats no fault of the app. apples pass card app has the same limitations. Most of the stores here in Canada have a second CCD scanner for use on phone apps like this. And even if they dont, they just type in the number...

Latest update still doesnt allow a local copy, like it has til now. Forced to save your personal data on their website. Dont want to but dont have that option. Dont want all my data saved to everywhere. Why not leave it to the person to decide, they might prefer Dropbox or icloud. Loved this app to looking for a new one. Too bad!

My great cardstar app has been replaced by this horrible new version that forces you to store your cards on their server like anyone would be that stupid! Moving to Stocard. I would pay 1$ for a card star version that did not require a login or storing cards off my phone but security is far too important to me. Privacy Policies are absolutely useless because the data can be hacked easily enough like the did with Sony and Winners.

I miss the old card star!! It was way easier to use the old one. New one has deleted some of my cards and keeps crashing. Hate it.
