Slow loading, clunky UI, but no alternative for YMCA member cards

I use this app several times a week to gain access to my gym. I would much rather use Apple Wallet, but for some reason the Y chose CardStar, so Im stuck with it.

CardStar loads (slowly) on the useless home screen, so I have to tap the cards tab, then my card, then maximize or the scanner wont read it. Too many taps for what should be a dead simple thing: showing a card to get into the gym.
